NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — Our region is one of the best in the state for viewing autumn foliage. Fall tourism brings many visitors to the foothills to see the changing of the leaves prior to the onset of cold temperatures.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has issued its estimate of when the color of the leaves will be changing, varying by region.
Some routes in Perry County to enjoy the fall foliage are:
-State Route 37 between Six Mile Turn and Portersville
-State Route 555
-State Route 345 between New Lexington and Saltillo
-State Route 93 between New Lexington and Shawnee (Blosser’s Curve, south of Bristol)
-State Route 668 south of Junction City
-State Route 37 near the Fairfield County line
-Marietta Road one mile west of State Route 668
-Marietta Road east of State Route 93
-Congo Road between State Route 13 and Portie Flamingo Road
-Indian Run Road south of State Route 155
-Old Town Road climbing the hill between the Monday Creek bridge and Old Straitsville
