Second shipment of flood relief supplies arrives

NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio — A second shipment of supplies to assist flood survivors in Perry County has arrived at South Main Church of Christ in New Lexington. The supplies are an invaluable and highly generous contribution by Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, Inc. We are unable to convey how grateful and thankful we are for their support and to God for working through them.

The supplies include family food boxes, three pallets of bottled water, two pallets of buckets containing cleaning supplies and one pallet of bleach spray. Other supplies include personal hygiene supplies, mops, brooms and wheelbarrows.

“We are delighted to be able to help our neighbors across Perry County who have been adversely impacted by three rounds of flooding in ten days. Our hearts break when we consider how life will never be the same for so many people living around us in New Lexington, Crooksville, Roseville and Corning,” said Jim Lanning, one of three elders at South Main Church of Christ.

Church members have established standard operating hours of 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each day to distribute supplies. Calling ahead is not necessary. Recipients are served as they arrive.
