Why do we take Communion?

Tom Sheppard, elder at South Main Church of Christ, explains Communion, or “The Lord’s Supper” is Christ’s death. We remember Christ’s death on the first day of the week.

Act 20:7 tells us the Disciples came together on the first day of the week to break bread.

When we take the Lord’s supper, we all take it at the same time, during the last part of worship.

Jesus said when we take the Lord’s supper, this is my body, fruit of the vine, precious blood. When we take it, we are supposed to remember what our Lord did for us on the cross. He died and suffered a cruel death.
