“God’s word is all authority that we go by at the Church of Christ in New Lexington,” Tom says.
The Bible teaches us in Ephesians 5:19 that we are to speak to ourselves in songs and hymns and spiritual songs, singing in grace in your hears to the Lord.
“Remember, it says singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. We are singing to the Lord; we are not singing to each other. We are teaching each other and getting strength from this,” Tom says.
In Galatians 3, the Bible says dwelling in your heart to the Lord.
“A lot of people wonder why we don’t have instruments. The Bible clearly says sing. Our instrument is from the heart. It’s not a guitar, not drums, not pianos.”
