Jim Lanning, elder at South Main Church of Christ, highlights answers in the Bible:

“The apostle Paul spoke twice about this: once in 1 Timothy and also in 2 Thessalonians,” Jim said.

“But if any not provide for his own, especially for those in his house, he hath denied the faith and is worse than an infidel, or worse than a nonbeliever. So, as a Christian, we are supposed to provide for those in our household,” Jim added.

2 Thessalonians 3:10: “If anyone will not work, neither shall they eat.”
